Rovella Mae Butler Pack closed her eyes and went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2018. She was born in Little Rock on January 15, 1924 to Pink and Mary Butler. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. Rovella grew up in Little Rock with a group of friends who called her the "camp director". She carried that title throughout her life and made friends everyplace she went because she was funny and witty and caring. Rovella was a beauty. When she was 16 she was modeling in the window at McClellan's when Frank Pack walked by on his way to work at Baker's Shoe Store. He decided on the spot that was the girl he dreamed of marrying so in December of that year they eloped and his dream came true. Rovella and her sisters were comptometerists and did the inventory for Cash Wholesale. However, the job she loved the most was showering her family and friends with unconditional love. The Pack home was a gathering place for fun and food. Rovella was a wonderful cook and never knew how many people would be sitting at the table but she would say that she always had plenty of food because she made extra gravy. She also believed that a stick of butter made everything taste better. Rovella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank and siblings, Mary Elizabeth Meyers, Kathryn Hart and Perry Butler. She is survived by a sister, Shirley Myklebust; her children and their spouses, Ralph and Susan Pack of Hot Springs, Judy and Mike Driver and Susan Pack of Little Rock; grandchildren and their spouses, Danea and Graham Smith, Michael and Amy Driver, Kevin and Holly Driver, Kyle Pack and Jay and Leslie Porter; great-grandchildren; Amanda Spina and husband Dennis, Taylor Smith, David Driver, Jack Driver, Lanie Driver, Luke Driver, Will Driver, Mays Porter and Jack Porter. She was the matriarch of the family and all wanted to please MawMaw and the grandchildren will probably always argue about who was her favorite. Rovella had the innate ability to befriend people who needed a friend and in doing so she helped many during troubled times. She would be honored if each person reading this would take time to reach out to someone in need. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity. The family would like to thank the staff of Hickory Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center for their concern and care during her years there. A Memorial Service will be held at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th Street in Little Rock on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
