Wanda Lee McAnear walked into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on May 1, 2018. Wanda was Born on November 13, 1926 in Screetonswitch, Arkansas to William and Vesta Moore. Wanda moved to Heber Springs, Arkansas when she was 16 and married the love of her life, Leon McAnear. She was a homemaker, taking great delight in cooking, raising vegetables and flowers, and received many blue ribbons for her baked goods, especially her bread. Wanda was an excellent seamstress, making clothes for all of her daughters and at times for other children in need. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church in Heber Springs for over 60 years where she was a teacher and served on several committees. She and Leon loved to travel the United States, often with friends and their church family. Wanda loved serving others, always willing to help those in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Leon and an infant son, her parents, six sisters and one brother. She is survived by four daughters, Sharon McGee (Bobby), Becky Houston (Bill), Lesa Bell (Edward) and Laura McAnear. Grandchildren, Teressa Houston, David Houston, Staci Wilkins, Amanda Wicker, Christin VanHouten and Christopher Bell and 10 Great Grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. To Mom's caregivers: Thank you for loving her and helping us take care of her in her last years. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the First Baptist Church with services beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Heber Springs Cemetery.
