Brenda Joy Seymour Meadows

Brenda Joy Seymour Meadows, 70, of Osceola, Ark., passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Meadows was born April 8, 1948, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John M. and Hattie (Garey) Seymour in Dyess, Ark. A 1966 graduate of Shawnee High School and a 1969 graduate of Arkansas State University, she taught math and English for 43 years in Mississippi County, serving the high school districts of Luxora, Rivercrest, and Osceola. A communicant of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Osceola, she served in the Altar Society and was a member of the Parish Council. She was a past secretary of the Osceola Booster Club. She was also a member of the National Teachers Academy. She enjoyed attending high school sporting events, tutoring, and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Meadows was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Karen Sue Bledsoe; and a nephew, Billy Bledsoe. Her survivors include her husband, Grover T. (Tommy) Meadows, of the home; one son, Thomas Eric Meadows, of Osceola; and two sisters, Barbara Gayle Williamson, of Monticello, Mississippi; and Johanna Henderson, of Benton. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 9: a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Ermen Lane in Osceola. Rosary will follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas J. Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Ashburn-Musick Cemetery at Bardstown. The family requests that remembrances be sent to St. Matthew Catholic Church, P.O.
