Charles Phillips went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2018. He was born on February 13, 1925 in Little Rock, Ark. Mr. Phillips graduated from Little Rock Central High School. He immediately enlisted in the United States Navy and completed naval training at Camp Wallace, Texas. He served his country during WWII in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Enterprise (CV-6). He received honorable discharge from the United States Navy on May 21, 1946. He returned to Little Rock where he and his uncle owned and managed Phillips Men store for over 50 years. He met many lifelong friends at the store. Mr. Phillips enjoyed meeting people and sharing stories and jokes with them. He was an avid Razorback fan and loved going with his family to see the Hogs play. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Bible Study Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years, Charlene. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Dr. Eddie Phillips and wife, Holly; daughter, Jane Jolly and husband, David of Hot Springs, AR; four grandchildren: Sam Rosen and wife, Melanie of Charleston, S.C.; Dr. Chris Rosen and wife, Sarah of Fayetteville, Ark.; Jason Phillips of Dallas Texas; and Julia Acosta and husband, Hershel of Dallas, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Alex Webb of Sachse, Texas and Olivia Webb of Conway, Ark.; seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Henry, Addie, Oliver, Sophia, Levi, and Nora; and numerous nephews and nieces and friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. The service will be officiated by Brother Paul Holderfield.
