Phillip Eugene Fredrich, 73, of Springdale departed this life on November 8, 2018. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on November 21, 1944, the fourth child of Augustine Fredrich and Barbara Strobel Fredrich. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Hope Hartz Fredrich, his children Barbara Kay Hatfield, Vincent Augustine Fredrich, Theodore Phillip Fredrich, and grandchildren Kate Hatfield, Emma Claire Hatfield, Caroline Hatfield, Ned Fredrich, Andrew Fredrich, Sawyer Fredrich, William Carlton, Collen Carlton; his brother Augustine (Jay) Fredrich (Cecelia), his sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Franzetti, (Joe) and Barbara Susan (Sue) Enderlin (Amos). He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Carolyn Ann Fredrich. Phil was a 1962 graduate of Subiaco Academy and completed two years of collegiate studies in the seminary at St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman, Alabama. After leaving the seminary, he pursued studies at the University of Arkansas, earning a Baccalaureate degree in Industrial Management in 1969. During his 45-year professional career he was employed as a Production Control Manager by Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, General Manager of the Miller Brewing Company distributorship in South Arkansas, Business Manager for Benchmark Industries in El Dorado, and Parish Manager for St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was a member of the El Dorado Jaycees, serving as Treasurer and President. In 1972 he was named an Outstanding Jaycee President in Arkansas. He was an active volunteer for the United Way and the YMCA of Union County and served as President of El Dorado Interfaith Help Services. In addition to his service to the community, he served on the Board of Directors of the Subiaco Alumni Association and served as President of the Association in 2011. In 2017 he was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Subiaco Academy. A Rosary will take place at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale on Sunday, November 11, 2018 starting at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 12th at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Subiaco, Arkansas at 1:00pm. Father Mark Stengel OSB will be officiating.
