Charles McWhorter

Charles McWhorter, age 94, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday November 11, 2018 in Fayetteville. He was born April 22, 1924 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Lester and Beulah McClelland McWhorter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Jane McWhorter; two sisters, Lillian Eubanks, Louise Lee and one brother, Glenn McWhorter. He was a Fayetteville firefighter for 27 years and retired as chief. He is survived by two daughters, Connie Ball and her husband David of Fayetteville, Sheila Kovach and her husband Joe of Little Rock; one son, Rick McWhorter and his wife Gail of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Brian Barrows and his wife Venitta, Jeff McWhorter and his wife Melinda, David McWhorter and his wife Rachel, Kate Spears and her husband J.J., Steven McKee and his wife Caitlin and Kelsey Davis and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday November 14, 2018 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Center Street Church of Christ with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
