Robin Lea McGary Bowman, 55, left her home in Greenbrier, Ark. to join her Lord and Savior the afternoon of September 1, 2018. Robin is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary Bowman of Greenbrier, son, Tyler and wife Amanda of Albuquerque, N.M., daughter, Molly and husband Tom Maj of Fayetteville, Ark., son, Stephen "Noah" Bowman of Greenbrier, and her first grand-baby, three month old Henry Oliver Maj, who she adored. Infant daughter, Emily Ruth Bowman and her father, Franklin Pierce McGary preceded her to Heaven. Robin was a 1980 graduate of Heber Springs where she attended all 12 years of school. She attended U of A in Fayetteville, Ark. and UCA in Conway, Ark. where she earned a BS in Physical Therapy, a field in which she had recently retired. Upon her retirement she became a licensed real estate agent and was excited about her new venture! She gave tirelessly of herself to Antioch Baptist Church where she is a member and active in the womenʼs ministry, weekly discipleship group, Welcome Team, a former Sunday School teacher and leader in the College Student Ministry. She helped coordinate mission trips to Guatemala and Peru for the Baptist Medical Missions Association, and to Russia and Greece with the International Womenʼs Conference teams for Pure Joy Ministries. She graciously opened her home as a Host Mom to international students studying at UCA, her neighborhood Bunco ladies, friends, and family. She enjoyed decorating for weddings, retreats with her college girlfriends, family vacations and ‘girl tripsʼ. We will miss Robin in so many ways but rejoice in knowing she is where she lived her life to be. A Celebration of Robinʼs life was held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway, Ark. Memorials may be made to an orphanage ministry in Nairobi, Kenya called Doxa and Agape Hope Education Center that Robin actively supported, or the Antioch Baptist Churchʼs Womenʼs Ministry.
