Tommy Ray Salmon

In the early hours of Sunday, September 16, 2018, Tom R. Salmon, 78, surrounded by family, peacefully died at his home in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Born on February 7, 1940 to Pat and Floene Sanders Salmon, Tom and his twin brother Don grew up in Harrison, Arkansas where they graduated high school in 1958. He then attended Arkansas Tech University where he met his loving wife of fifty seven years, Garrie Burnham Salmon. In 1961, Tom and Garrie moved to North Little Rock, where they started and raised their family. Tom worked with his father and brother in their family trucking company, Pat Salmon and Sons. Tom was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Tommie Lynn Salmon, his parents, and his younger brother, John Salmon. Tom is survived by his wife; his son, Jim Salmon (Lynn) of Windermere, Florida and their two sons, Patrick Burnham Salmon of Windermere, Florida and Matthew Thomas Salmon (Tess) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his daughter, Martha Salmon Davis (Duane) of Fayetteville, Arkansas and their daughter, Raelyn Bea Davis and their son, Denver James Davis both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his twin brother Don G. Salmon (Mary Ann) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as many nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends. Tom was an avid cattleman and antique car collector. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and entertaining all on his farm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Lakewood United Methodist Church Endowment Fund (North Little Rock, Arkansas.) Visitation will be from 5–7 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be at Arkansas Memorial Gardens at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018 followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Lakewood United Methodist Church.
