James R. "Jim" Tollett

James R. "Jim" Tollett, 84, of North Little Rock, went to his heavenly home Monday, September 17, 2018. He was born January 18, 1934, in Hope, Arkansas, to Andrew Floyd and Lillian Augusta Tollett. Jim graduated from the University of Arkansas with a mechanical engineering degree in 1959. He retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Jim was a member of Central Baptist Church NLR for nearly 15 years. He served as a deacon at three different Baptist churches, and served as an RA director, a church treasurer, and was a member of the Gideon's International Association. He married Patsy R. Lewis on May 29, 1953, and they were together for 65 years. He is survived by his daughters Pamela I. Mantooth and Karen A. Martin. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Mitchell S. Martin, Davis R. Martin, and Victoria L. Mantooth along with four great-grandchildren. Jim's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 21, at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Entombment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, September 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the North Little Rock Gideon's and Central Baptist Church's building fund.
