Gloria Rossi DeSalvo, age 91, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed from this life to her heavenly eternal life on July 10th, 2019. She was born September 24th, 1927 in Center Ridge, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Paladino) Rossi. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. DeSalvo, her daughter, Barbara D. Peterson Uhlenbrock; her two sisters, Louise Crews, and Lucille Conway, and her three brothers, Edward Rossi, Charles Rossi, and Rev. Raymond Rossi. Surviving are her brother Marion Rossi (Betty) of Center Ridge, Ark.; her sons: Stephen H. DeSalvo (Keeley) of Hot Springs, Ark., Mark A. DeSalvo (Dorsey) of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and four grandchildren: Brett H. Peterson (Miranda) of Houston, Texas, Todd Peterson (Chelsea) of San Antonio, Texas, Kara Peterson of Austin, Texas, and Nick A. DeSalvo of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. and two great grandchildren, Wyatt & Liam Peterson of Houston, Texas. Additionally she is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins, all of whom loved her. Gloria lived a full life like no other. She was well known to have been blessed with a green thumb when it came to planting and raising vegetables, flowers, and all types of plants. She loved her family, immediate and extended, like few people you will encounter in life. The DeSalvo's, Rossi's, and Paladino's knew how to celebrate life and Gloria loved being in the middle of it. She was a devoted wife to her husband and as a mother to her children. She treated everyone like a friend and loved meeting people. She could tell family stories like no other and relished family get togethers. Gloria had an infectious smile, a wonderful humor, and a laugh that brought smiles. She could be stern but had your best interest at heart. She loved and promoted her faith, her family, and her friends to the world and will be missed greatly. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Hot Springs, Ark. and a devout Catholic her entire life. Gloria hosted many of the clergy throughout her life and was always vigilant to keep the faith through good times and bad. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 343 Catholic Point Rd., Center Ridge, Ark. 72027 with Father T.J. Hart and Father Aby Abraham officiating. A Rosary will precede the mass at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family would like to thank her long-time companion and friend Shiva, and the many personal caregivers and staff of Belvedere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs, for their loving and compassionate care.
