Augustus Marion Fulk III

Augustus Marion Fulk III was born August 15, 1931 to Augustus Marion Fulk Jr. and Lois Vandenburg Fulk in Little Rock, Ark. He attended Little Rock Senior High where he excelled at academics, graduating Cum Laude, serving as President of the National Honor Society, and being the lead commencement speaker. He proudly served as the Athletic Student Manager for the Wilson's Tigers. Upon graduation, he attended Columbia University on a four year scholarship, graduating in 1953. After graduating Columbia, Augustus, known as Sonny to his friends and also as Gus, married the love of his life, Anne Watkins Bass of Little Rock in 1954, after she graduated from Vassar College. Gus then attended the U.S. Navy's Officer Candidate School. He served as an Ensign and a Lieutenant JG for three years, including a nine month deployment to the Western Pacific on the USS Boxer. Gus and Anne returned to Little Rock in 1957, and Gus became a stock and options broker, serving clients through five different brokerage companies over 60 years, retiring in 2018. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, tennis player, runner, gardener, and accomplished bridge player. He was a model husband and father. He and Anne were married for 62 years before Anne died at the end of 2016. Together Anne and Gus raised four children: Marion (Jeff Rosenzweig), Martin (Lisa Shea), Baucum (Anna Swallow), and Austin (Brian Moulton). They were proud grandparents to Watkins, Lucy, and Linus. Gus will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, friends, and clients. His funeral will be held Saturday, March 23, at 2 pm at Christ Episcopal Church where he attended for over 60 years and served on the vestry and as an usher. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Friday, March 22, at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham St., Little Rock, Arkansas 72205. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ducks Unlimited, 1 Waterfowl Way, Memphis, Tennessee 38120 or Christ Episcopal Church, 509 Scott St,. Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.
