SFC Ezell Robinson, 86, died on February 11, 2019, at St. Joseph Medical Center (KCMO.) He was born in Wrightsville, Ark., on April 14, 1932, from the union of Moses Robinson, Jr., and Deather Jordan Robinson. He had many siblings, sisters, Beatrice Huggins, Thelma Burnside and Betty McDaniel; and brothers, Henry Robinson, Eddie Robinson and Archie Robinson preceded him in death. He is survived by three brothers, Aree (Callie) of Kansas City, Mo., Charles (Mary Ann) of Fairfield, Calif., and Cledell Robinson (Willa Mae) of Kansas City, Mo.; and sisters-in-law, Ruthie Lee Robinson (Henry) of Wrightsville, Ark., and Cynthia Robinson (Archie) of St. Louis, Mo.; and uncle, J.C. Robinson of Minneapolis, Minn. At an early age, Ezell was baptized and joined The Virginia Baptist Church in Wrightsville, Ark. He graduated from Wrightsville High School. Here, in Kansas City, he attended The Church of the Living God of Kansas City, Kan. He joined the U.S. Army in 1950, served in the Korean War, and went on to pursue a military career of 21 years. He worked as a military policeman and ended his service in Transportation, earning many citations and supervising shipping ports in Asia and Europe. This allowed him to see the world and raise his family in exotic places like Italy and Bermuda. Ezell then joined the Post Office, where he supervised for 15 years. He earned many certificates for his good work and retired after 36 years of combined federal service in 1987. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, cooking and mastered any skill necessary to improve his family's life. He was a great carpenter, (building his mother's house in Wrightsville, Ark.) and mentored friends and family on the skills of doing the right thing in the right way. In 1952, Ezell married his childhood sweetheart, Emma Jean Holt. This union lasted 67 years and produced four children, Debrah Cavole (Harry), Gerald (Beate), Nathan (Pat) and Ezara (deceased). Emma Jean and her family benefited greatly from the work ethic and wisdom of a good man. He knew no strangers. He is survived by a host of relatives, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who will hear a number of stories by those who were fortunate to interact with him. The family wishes to thank special neighbors, Mack and Carol Calhoun, for the many acts of kindness shown and Rick Bishop, for his help with hospital trips and doctors visits. Thirty years retired!
