Hi, I am Kencia (Toombs) Stanley, Carmeletta's sister. I appreciate all that you all have done to help solve the case pertaining to my sister's abduction. It is a nightmare to relive the whole situation again for our family. I was 5years old at the time but I do remember some things about that terrible day. My mother screaming and wondering where is her baby and no one knowing where she is and calling people to see if she was there. It was so sad and heartbreaking to see my mother go through such a horrible experience. Carmeletta taught me alot of things, such as, tying my shoes, riding my bike, and how to treat others the way you want to be treated. She was so smart and to me knew everything just like my mom. My mother had to be strong and take care of the rest of us trying not to break down in front of us. There was times when I knew she had been crying but tried to keep us from knowing, and on Carmeletta's birthdays was the worst. Many people saw my mother as a strong woman that could take anything and she could except when it came to any of her children being hurt or messed with.

For 27 years, it has been hard for my family to put this behind us. I feel that someone is responsible for this length of time. MY sister has been in the crime lab since 1991, how horrible that is. If the Little Rock police department had tried to do more for my her and tried to find her more days than what they did, or stop making it seem like my mother had something to do with her abduction, or maybe tried to have DNA on file when they were able to , or just maybe find out more about Kenneth Cooney and Larry Cooney and their whereabouts then maybe we would of had closure years ago. Noone seemed to care that my sister was gone. Kenneth Cooney put my family through hell at that time frame of our lives. People just don't realize the stuff he put us through, the abuse at times when my mother wasn't around or how we were so scared to tell my mother due to the fact that he threaten to kill us or my mother if we told her. He was horrible. My mother tried many times to get rid of him but he would still come around. Yes he hated my sister because he knew she wasn't a fool or a dumb child that didn't know what was going on and to him she was in the way. My mom told the police department that he didn't like her but did they do anything about it no. My mother told me that he took an lie detector three times and failed all and no arrest was done. That is unacceptable. He lived his sorry life free and no punishment was giving to him instead my mother lived all these years being punished for her daughters abduction by not knowing where her daughter is or whether that she is alive or dead, that is punishment. The police department to me did not care and I felt that is was, at that time , that she was another black person that was gone and did not need to be found. I cry now daily even while I am making this comment because I knew my sister well I was old enough to remember her and I miss her so much, always have ,she was like a second mother to me when my mother was working and she took good care of us. I thank God for being their for us, expecially my mother , through all these years. She kept it together for the rest of us to make sure that we all made it in life and I love her for that. She was a single parent but she was and still is an excellent mother and grandmother. I had to take over that older sister role and it was hard at first, making sure my younger siblings were taking care of at all times, but i grew older and just always remember what my sister would tell me "always treat others the way you want to be treated that is the right way". I will keep these words in my heart forever and will continue to teach them to my children and family.

Hi, I am Scott Johnson the baby brother of Jackie Conney. I was 14 days from turning 6 years old when this happened. When I was growing up I used to hear my mother speak of Carmeletta as a wonderful child and the day it all went bad. I love my family more than life itself. To know we have closure after all these years is a blessing but to know she was in that crime lab since 1991 is WRONG!How, please tell me that. The failed lie detector test, how is that? My sister has hurt for so many years we have all hurt. I thank you for this story and please keep informing the world on child abduction. Thank You!
