#2 Skip over to north-central Arkansas and you'll find more beautiful, Buffalo River-fed landscape with many outdoor activities to go along with it. A favorite area for camping and exploration is Blanchard Springs near Fiftysix (Yes, there's a town in Arkansas called Fiftysix). Campers can swim in the springs, hike and explore living caves, and fish from peaceful ponds. Pictured above is Gunner Pool, which also made our top 10 "swimming holes" list, which lies between the Blanchard Springs and Barkshed campsites. Camping rates start at $10 per day.
