#6 Two smaller (but certainly not less scenic) state parks to the east of Mt. Magazine are Mt. Nebo and Petit Jean State Parks. Mt. Nebo is located in Dardenelle and overlooks the Arkansas River Valley. The park offers 34 campsites, 10 of which are hike-in, as well as cozy cabins like pictured above. Like Mt. Magazine, visitors can enjoy hang gliding and mountain biking, plus hike the 14 miles of trails surrounding the mountain. The park also has tennis courts, a swimming pool, pavilions and playgrounds. Regular camping rates start at $10 per day.
