Description

Cafe La Pace, the latest addition to the Main Street restaurant row in North Little Rock's Argenta district, is still a work in progress, but it is already fulfilling some of its potential.
Owner-cook-host Sam Kassees is still tinkering with his menu and every time we've been the physical layout has changed as Sam makes adjustments based on customer volume and needs.
The original pitch for the cafe was that it was going to be a New York-style deli, but the style in New York must have changed a good deal recently because this doesn't exactly match our New York deli experience.
Yes, you'll find corned beef - Kassees puts it in his New York Style Reuben ($5.99) - but you won't find rye bread or many of the other things you'd expect.
For example, pretty much all of Sam's sandwiches are on pita. So are his pizzas. And you can get some of his salads stuffed into pita as well. (Bagels and croissants are options for breakfast, but all of those sandwiches are available on pita, too.)
