The restaurant is small but nicely decorated in maroon and brown, with attractive artwork and a big TV anchored on the front wall. As you enter the front door, there's a bank of booths along the right wall and several small tables to the left. Customers peruse the food at the steam table (prices are posted above) along the back wall and place their orders.
A regular order of a meat and two vegetables is $5.99, a jumbo order is $7.97, and a single meat order is $2.50. A vegetable plate is $4.99, and a single vegetable is $1.85. A roll or cornbread is 75 cents, soup is available in small ($2.99) and large ($4.99) sizes and dessert is $1.95.
Meats include items like catfish with hushpuppies, Polish sausage, chicken, pork chops, chopped pork and beef, and turkey legs. I recommend the chopped pork, which is tender with a pleasantly smoky flavor. As for the turkey legs, the tender meat is pink and smoky, and pulls easily from the bone. The lip-smacking ribs are lean and meaty.
