Fridays are catfish days which explains the larger than- normal volume of diners streaming out to their cars lugging Styrofoam containers. And while the foot traffic is an unmistakable endorsement, we opted instead for a take-out plate lunch of beef tips over egg noodles, pinto beans and - not realizing we were carbo- loading - macaroni and cheese ($6.50), with a choice between roll, corn bread or hush puppies. After ascertaining the ginger peach tea was made on-site, not bottled elsewhere, we ordered a to-go cup of Madea's signature brew as well ($1.49).
