Christian Formation Opportunities

Children age 3 through fifth grade are in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd downstairs in the parish hall and the Church Undercroft. All other classes are in the undercroft and in the education wing of the church.

Catechesis is a spiritual journey for children teaching Christ's lessons and the liturgy of the formal church. All children/youth are welcome at any time and do not have to have attended prior classes.

Catechesis I: ages 3-5 begins basic skills development training, and lessons of the Good Shepherd. Taught by Becky Rice, with assistance from Jenny Heard.

Catechesis II: ages 6-8 builds on level I through reading, and presentations of the True Vine. Taught by Ginna Simmons, with assistance from Jenny Heard.

Catechesis III: ages 9-12 continues building through group exploration of the Bible, maps, book references, music/drama, and lessons of The Plan of God. Taught by Jan Hoskins, with assistance from Ellen Moses.

Junior High/Sr. High Class: ages Jr. High - High School. This class is taught by Suzzette Patterson and Brouke Reynolds. It focuses on art and the scriptures.

Adult Sunday Morning Class: The Rector's Forum meets each Sunday in the Adult Ed Classroom at 9:20 AM. The topic currently being reviewed is the "Catechism" in the back of the Book of Common Prayer. Everyone is invited to attend.
