Next time you're in Mayflower, check out Stroud's Country Diner. It's in the heart of the small town with easy access to Interstate 40. From the outside, Stroud's, which offers plenty of parking, is housed in a yellow metal warehouse- type building directly in front of the train tracks. Inside, the warehouse theme continues, with exposed metal rafters and concrete floors. Diners seat themselves in one of two dining areas that contain a hodgepodge collection of tables, chairs and booths that adds to the country ambience of the place. Soon, a pleasant server will take your order. If you order coffee, you'll notice that your coffee cup won't match anyone else's, as Stroud's has an eclectic collection of mugs and cups, many with catchy slogans or logos. And the coffee won't disappoint either. It's hot, flavorful and just the right strength. My only complaint here is that they only offer small packets of powdered creamer.
