This is my third and final guest column. In the first I outlined a general comment in support of the arts and in the second I offered a sketch about the unique importance of live theater. For my final example, I would like to say something about historical fiction.

A few days ago, I was invited by Paul Greenberg to pinch hit three columns for the Democrat-Gazette. I was as delighted as I was surprised. Even more marvelous was the news that I could swing at anything I wanted.
