ConAgra Foods Inc. is laying off 233 employees at its frozen foods plant in Batesville as it shifts that work to a plant in Marshall, Mo., Batesville Mayor Rick Elumbaugh said Friday. Elumbaugh said 220 of the workers are hourly employees and the other 13 are in management. Before the layoffs, the plant employed about 550 workers, he said.
