Judge halts executions of 8 on death row October 9, 2015 at 2:54 p.m.

Too bad these murderers did not grant the right of appeal, extend a stay of execution, or provide any other mercy to their victims. Until this is settled, move forward with the executions but rather than use the lethal injection they are so afraid may be painful, for each individual use the exact same methods that individual used to murder their victim(s).

Kentucky clerk who fought gay marriage released from jail September 8, 2015 at 5:56 p.m.

Ironic she forced her own religious beliefs on her staff while declaring she was denied her own relgious freedom. Remember she was only jailed after she refused Judge's compromise offer of not making her issue but allow staff to issue licenses, thus forcing her beliefs onto those of her staff. If she can't perform the duties of the job, she needs to find a new job. If I'm Vegetarian and refuse to cook meat, should I expect to be allowed to work as a cook in a steak house?

Ex-Treasurer Martha Shoffner sentenced to 30 months August 28, 2015 at 5:01 p.m.

Undercover police/Informants "set up" people all the time - no one forced her to agree to the bribe therefore she deserves to spend some time in prison. The 30 months behind bars will be maybe 10 months with the time off for good behavior. She'll survive - as a good Christian, she should know God does not give us more than we can handle. Re Pitty her, she's been thru enough - let's assume she couldn't afford rent - she knew the salary BEFORE running for the office, she should have taken all factors of holding office into consideration BEFORE she ran for office. Only confirmed to me she has poor judgement and definitely cannot manage money - her's or the State's. She's been thru enough? She dragged this out herself. She could have admitted her "mistake", accepted a plea deal and been done with all of it by now. Glad to see she has some friends, but advise is don't let her near your bank accounts :-)

Cleburne County clerk will resign over same-sex marriage licenses June 29, 2015 at 3:33 p.m.

Making the assumption the Clerk is the pious believer they portray themselves to be, has the Clerk previously verified and ensured the morality of each and every person who previously applied for a marriage license to ensure they fit his religious doctrine? Have previous applicants been screened for Divorce ?? Lies?? Stealing? Respecting their parents? Ever saying God's name in vain? In ANY job, if one can't or won't perform the tasks required to perform the job, get a new job. Although an extreme example, if a doctor or nurse joins a faith that does not believe in giving blood transfusions, should they be allowed to refuse treating a patient based on their religious belief? Time for a few fresh faces in the County Clerks' office!

Obama unveils $500 million gun-violence package January 16, 2013 at 11:47 a.m.

1) $500 Million plan.....will this be paid for by raising of the debt ceiling?
2) How does he plan to get around HIPPA (patient privacy) laws?
3) Does he really need to use Children sell his package? Isn't his "leadership" enough?
4) Which one of his proposals will actually STOP the violent 'solutions ' of people who are obviously mentally ill?

VA Director Dave Fletcher resigns May 14, 2012 at 5 p.m.

Disgusting - he's caught being incompetent so is allowed to "retire" and will receive all benefits. And let's not forget the VA center collecting payments from patients illegally .... under his watch too! Why not FIRED?!? Our Veterans deserve more respect than allowing this creep to walk away scott free..

VIDEO: Hardin sentenced to probation September 26, 2011 at 4:33 p.m.

sorry to see but not surprised Arkansas' good ol' boy network is still alive and well. The legal system has NOTHING to do with justice.

Killed by partisanship April 19, 2011 at 2:31 p.m.

Debbie Pelley is simply doing for the "Conservative" movement what MoveOn and the other Liberal, excuse me, "Progressive" advocates do -- spread the word of what is being discussed in our government and asking for you to contact your representatives and voice your opinions. Debbie Pelley does not ask your affiliation when you sign up to be on her distribution lists....the "progressives" can be on the list and voice their opinions too.

If you don't like what government is doing, Conservative or Progressive, get involved, write and/or call your representatives, be informed about BOTH sides of an issue, and exercise your right to vote.
