Maddjack it doesn't !! Homeland Security was formed by combining at least 22 existing agencies plus a few new ones.. a large amount of these agencies carry weapons, have access to hugh amounts of private information on the citizenry.. It occurs to me, the conspirator side of me, that
this Homeland Security force of 200,00 plus could be used against the people under the guise of "Homeland Security".. I try to quell any notions
of conspiracies i might develop, but sometimes they just overwhelm. forgive me !!

I understand our America spending habits are not good. President Clinton served 2 terms and left a surplus.
President Obama inherit this mess. I agree with President Obama to raise tax on the rich Lest show support for a fair and balance. President Obama should apply his Executive power. 14 Amendment and raise the debt ceiling until 2013. The voter's can take it from there.

I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against a mosque being built at Ground Zero. I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant. Thus the Mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance. That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, "Th......e Turban Cowboy", which would be gay, and the other a topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot." Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbeque pork restaurant, called " Iraq o' Ribs." Across the street there could be a lingerie store called " Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret", with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods. Next door to the lingerie shop, a liquor store called "Morehammered." All of this would encourage the Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so the mosque problem would be solved.

I'm sorry to tell you that we won't be going thru Hot Springs on the 15th as originally planned. My parents need to be checked on and some family business settled, so Anneliese & I will head to Texas during that time to see that they're being taken care of properly and to confer with my siblings about nursing home possibilities, etc.
I think you'll like Allen. He's got a keen mind, certainly is conservative (passionately & compassionately, I believe), writes well, and please mention my name when you contact him.
I must admit I missed the new name change (CHO to SIH) but am glad to see you're still in circulation.

It's very difficult to put human beings behind the entries one reads. Lately, I've been trying harder to bear this thought in mind whilst penning my arguments. There is some "agree to disagree" philosophy that helps, but one thing has really helped me the most: I am taking more time to research the issue and to check the validity of the information presented by myself and others.
I know that I am more responsive to the conservatives who take time to compare notes with me and share a personal item or two about themselves. I hope it works in the other direction as well.
As to the lack of comments from the Peanut Gallery, it just might be that several have decided that the show is over and they've moved on to other topics. It might be interesting to pay attention the next time a "hot" topic comes up and see the "mood-meter" as the discussion progresses.
