Lawmakers call Trump's performance 'bizarre,' 'shameful'; U.S. Sen. John Boozman tweets that Russia 'is not our friend' July 16, 2018 at 6 p.m.

I really don’t know how Mattis, Kelley and others who served can stand to continue working for this abomination of an administration. I suppose they tell themselves they’re doing it for the country, not the traitor in chief.

Trump is being savaged by the worldwide press and many in his party. He will not recover from this. It is indefensible. Maybe he’ll track a little novichok onto AF1. MRGA!

Trump questions U.S. intel, not Putin, on Russia 2016 meddling July 16, 2018 at 2:46 p.m.

Fmr CIA Dir. John Brennan: “Donald Trump's press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of 'high crimes & misdemeanors.' It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump's comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???”

BRADLEY R. GITZ: Failure to adapt July 16, 2018 at 11:52 a.m.

Neither of Trump’s immigrant wives was a citizen at the time they gave birth to 4 of his children, making the latter anchor babies. Just saying their mothers didn’t need anchors makes them no less anchor babies. They may as well have been born to DACA recipients. Same thing.

BRADLEY R. GITZ: Failure to adapt July 16, 2018 at 10:33 a.m.

Crook - Why aren’t you advocating for immigration reform? Terms of our current policy were written during the Cold War. Many of those coming now are exploiting those terms when they don’t even apply any longer. We need to close that loophole in order that we can more rapidly deport individuals and families. How do you justify the budget for ICE and the ‘wall’ when it exceeds the GDP of Honduras, El Salvador and Columbia combined? Why not sprinkle a small portion of it as econ dev inside those countries and lean on their leadership the way we lean on NATO instead. Why aren’t you also advocating for your new SCOTUS to reinterpret birthright citizenship under 14A? It was only ever intended to ensure slaves and their children were citizens. Meanwhile, your POTUS has 4 anchor babies as a result.

The magical thinking of Donald Trump July 15, 2018 at 7:03 p.m.

Pack - How will meeting with Putin solve ANY of our issues if Putin won’t confront them about election meddling, their support of Assad in Syria, their annexation of Ukraine and if they’re not responsible for unchecked immigration? Why, instead, aren’t he and his wrecking crew going to Honduras, Columbia and El Salvador, sources of most illegals? Our budget for ICE and the wall exceeds their combined GDP. It would be cheaper to engage with them and address the root causes of emigration in order to keep them from leaving their countries in the first place. It’s simple math. Yet Trump chooses instead to meet with Putin.

Perils of plastic July 15, 2018 at 4:47 p.m.

Hear, hear. I think it speaks volumes that Rwanda banned plastic bags 10yrs ago and the US has done nothing. We’re relying on private entities to take the lead, as many are. Far more individuals also need to make changes: no more plastic takeout forks: use your own at home. There are many more examples of how individuals can be a little less lazy yet make a big difference.

Little Rock aims to make streets friendly; program to stress car-bike goodwill July 15, 2018 at 4:33 p.m.

I hate to say I don’t see this having an impact. AR drivers are massive aholes with zero tolerance for anyone or any form of transportation which might inconvenience them in the slightest. Case in point, neither of 2 prior comments was positive, with one BLAMING cyclists. I think if it were legal in AR to shoot cyclists, there would be a lot of dead cyclists. I give every AR cyclist riding on roads (and not exclusively car-free trails) all the credit in the world. They’re risking their lives among a bunch of absolute steel-wrapped homicidal bungholes.
