Packman, since you are such a student of gayness, do any of the current Republican candidates for office worry you any?

Progressive,

I like Warren very much, but I don't see her as a President either. Warner is an interesting suggestion. What do folks think about Charlie Crist these days?

Don't you think that his haircut looks a little uneven in back too?

What a gratuitous dumb "editorial".

UA coach sees victory coming September 2, 2014 at 9:10 a.m.

Classy to blame your players and say you still need more "troops" after just one game. How would Coach rate the coaching?

Lower the rates--now September 1, 2014 at 1:27 p.m.

Corporate inversion IS a loophole. So close it.

The problem is that the Republicans do not actually want to close loopholes or do anything else that would cause their corporate overlords to pay more. Neither do a lot of Democrats, sadly.

Time for another remedial Civics lecture -- the President doesn't write the tax code. Congress does.

Great idea. Stop corporate maneuvers to avoid paying fair share of taxes by just saying they don't have to pay their fair share in the first place.

Groups ask state high court to strike voter-ID law September 1, 2014 at 10:19 a.m.

This thread in part reads like "This Day In History", the 100 years ago entry. "John Justice, the Negro attorney trying to defend his fellow Negro who made suggestive comments to Miss Polly Purehead, and is to be hung on July 4 . . ." Seriously, "black lawyers"? "Minority lawyers"?

I'm pretty sure that the lawyers of whatever color are not arguing that old or poor people are "too dumb" to remember their IDs. That would be Republican gubernatorial candidates. They may, on the other hand, be arguing that it is wrong to curtail a constitutional right to vote for no demonstrated legitimate reason.

Really, "black lawyers" are challenging the requirement? What color are the lawyers defending it?

Hogs in it to win it before second-half slog August 31, 2014 at 4:10 p.m.

Cant rely on the spell-checker for everything. Besides Bob, dumb computer didnt even notice that the never yield Hogs had a total of two yards rushing in the second half.

Hogs in it to win it before second-half slog August 31, 2014 at 7:54 a.m.

Our 175 total passing yards would have ranked 107th, 9 spots above last year. Our 153 rushing yards would have ranked #75 ( and do so far this season too).

Hopefully we get better quickly before Texas Tech and our return to SEC play.
