SIG Sauer shifting ammo work to Arkansas May 5, 2016 at 10:31 a.m.

Good news. This is and will continue to be great market area. The Obama release of over 10,000 felons, the standing down and non-enforcement of laws regarding illegal criminal aliens and the continuous attacks by the Department of Justice and the Black Lie movement on local police and first responders, the influx of thousands of ISIS type sympathizers make your public safety a number one priority for the average American citizen who cannot afford private security guards or Secret Service protection like the Obamas, bushes and Clintons.

JOHN BRUMMETT: Kurrus' dilemma May 5, 2016 at 10:23 a.m.

The Little Rock schools have been run into the ditch by 50 years of mishandling by federal judges and a group of social activists who gained "local fame" and sucked out money by the millions for what? The worst school district in Arkansas which probably means the worst in the USA and somewhere on a par with 3rd world countries.
One person cannot undo the damage in one year. And to think and say that they can is absurd and an outright lie.
For those parents truly interested in an education for their children they are a number of very good private schools in the city. Tighten down your budget, assign your priorities and place your child in a school where your child can receive a decent education.
It will take years of reform and rebuilding to put the LR schools on the footing of a 'normal' district, there will be many hit and misses and more debacles. Key and Hutch and Wal Mart did not put the schools in the condition they are today the people and leaders of LR did it with the help of the federal judges and the parasite social activisists. This is the same group that is now trying to stop the much needed rebuilding of the Pulaski County road infrastructure.
For those unable to afford a private school, then buy some books, turn off your tv and ipad and teach your child as much as possible at home. Learn where the closest library is and take your child there to study and learn. A child with any aptitude for learning will start to develop some good study habits on their own with your assistance can make progress, perhaps enough to get a decetn job and then work themselves up the economic ladder. Learn the Chinese language because that is where the jobs of the future are going to be.
Lastly, bull doze Central High School, it is a sorry symbol of bigtroy and stupidity. It should not be glorified but forgotten and shovedinto the dusty history bin of nonsense. Build a new structure, perhaps bringing in modern Chinese engineers and architects to design and build a 21st century looking structure and hire top teachers not affirmative action hacks and politically correct goofballs still trying to win outdated social issues.

Faculty group at UA presses for pay raises May 5, 2016 at 9:40 a.m.

The profs need to get Jeff Long to do their bidding for them, then perhaps they might receive what is coming to them. Certainly you cannot expect taxpayers and workers who have not received increases in the last 20 years to pay more. Students are already saddled with huge amounts of federal debt and cannot be expected to pay anymore to fund something that is becoming more and more questionable in having a decent rate of return on money spent.

Arkansas GOP says loyal will sign on to Trump bid May 5, 2016 at 9:02 a.m.

The damage done to the USA by the last 4 presidents regarding trade and illegal immigration and a complete neglect of infrastructure will take some time to correct. Hopefully the country does not default on its debt before the rebuilding and reforming can begin.

Trump wins; Cruz bows out May 4, 2016 at 9:24 a.m.

Trump has knocked out 16 pols, a lot of them corrupted, there is one remaining, the biggest crook of all ,Hillary. Lets see how the Goldman Saks lady and all the money from Saudi Arabia given to the Clinton Foundation, for God knows what, can buy her the presidency this time around. She has made it plain she wants miners and people in the energy industry to lose their jobs and to put even more people on welfare and food stamps like the Emir.

POLL: Bid to rein poor now part of Arkansas bill May 4, 2016 at 9:16 a.m.

If you are over 16 and not disabled then the restrictions should apply. Unemployment in Arkansas is very low and many farm labor jobs are open. The mooching and begging from one generation to another needs to be curtailed, we cannot afford it any longer.

JOHN BRUMMETT: Thank you, Sir Paul May 3, 2016 at 9:43 a.m.

The Beatles produced some great music, perhaps some of the best in the 20th century. But the driving force of Paul is now greed and more $$$$. Why would a 73 year old man go to the boondocks to play? Money, money and some ego. It is a shame, kind of reminds you of Bill Clinton.

Little Rock police chief quizzed at forum; patrols, diversity discussed May 3, 2016 at 9:36 a.m.

The police department in Little Rock is headed down the same path as the corrupt, defunct Little Rock School District, a bunch of social activists trying to use public money and time on social causes instead of public safety. What difference does it really make in the skin color of an officer? Only a racist would bring up points like that. Using Baltimore and Detroit as role models for Little Rock or any city is a path to destruction and out of control crime.

Kurrus: Open to role in district, but need to know where Little Rock schools headed May 3, 2016 at 9:31 a.m.

The Little Rock public schools are the worst in the state and that means probably the worst in the USA and last among 3rd world countries too. They have been driven into the ground by the federal judges and social activists who gained fame and monetary rewards from this debacle. No one person is going to reform or rebuild the schools in a year or two, the damage is just too deep and severe. Sometimes it is better to let the rot completely decay before starting over again. Throwing more money in addition to the millions that the federal judges sucked out of the state is not the answer, because it winds up in the hands of activists who fuel more discord. Let it simmer in its owns stench until a natural ground up re-birth can take place. In the meantime for the few people who do care about the education can send their children to some really great private schools in Little Rock.

Migrant advocates say schools keep many out May 2, 2016 at 9:47 a.m.

More property tax increases to pay for another goofy Obama scheme to get more votes. USA and taxayers have absolutely no obligation to pay for the education and health care of illegals. Obama is sucking money from working families to pay for foreigners, the rape has got to stop.
