The rise of Tom Cotton January 16, 2013 at 12:56 p.m.

What makes a guy an extremist when he won't compromise the values and convictions he had when he ran for office? Cotton spoke his heart (I heard him speak) and now he is voting his convictions. Come on J.B., you say you don't like extreme left, but then when it gets down to it, WHEN IS THE DEBT BURDEN AND THE DEFICIT SPENDING TOO MUCH, WHEN IS THAT DAY JOHN? You and your left leaning friends never address that. That's because it will be too much when it is TOO LATE! Stick to your principles Tom!

Obama unveils $500 million gun-violence package January 16, 2013 at 12:46 p.m.

What is the deal Mr. President? How many people does it take to get your attention? It isn't shored up background checks, or bans on certain weapons, or spent money on state authority controlling all of us, but a ARMED POLICEMAN in every school WHILE KIDS ARE ON SITE that is the only way to send the message!

Build the pipeline already January 23, 2012 at 6:24 a.m.

lEVITICUSS, your arguement about selling this refined oil to Asia is simple-minded. The fact is that we import a large % of our oil and just like electricity, it all gets pooled with domestic oil (except for small refining capacities inland which refined generally stays within geographic area.) To say that oil from one place or another all stays domestic is ludicrous, it goes to the buyer at any one time in history. But, to say we don't NEED the pipeline to get N.A. crude to refineries to lessen the burden of Middle East oil coming to our refineries is almost past simple minded thought. You cannot stop the use of oil and start a new technology energy on a dime. So while the experts you purport are coming up with new game plans, we must use 19th century technology. By the way, how did you get to work or the grocery store today?

Baseball Hall voters face tough choices January 11, 2012 at 7:32 a.m.

I say let 'em in on their record, period. Otherwise, you say it was ALL about enhancements, and NONE about the ability to results over a long period of time. Ridiculous. Twenty years from now we will be talking about Roger Clemens command of the mound, and Bonds, Sosa, and McGuire's prowesses at the plate, particularly the lockout season Sosa and McGuire together saved.

Tebow has every right to express beliefs December 18, 2011 at 9:42 a.m.

Wally, you have been maligned for some things in the past by friends, but those same friends will be the first to praise this article. Not because the man professes his faith, but does it honestly, realizing God is bigger than footbal scores, yet more intimate than most would want who want separation from all such. Good writing.
