Complaint: Shoffner took multiple $6,000 payments May 20, 2013 at 1:45 p.m.
In answer to NoUserName, I wouldn't want to make any unfounded accusation, but many times when someone is caught in a mess like this, it turns out they have a serious gambling problem and big gambling debts. Because you're right, she should be comfortable financially, especially in Arkansas. Many people are, on much less.

Harley, the situation with Shoffner is not a witch hunt, as some of the things you mention were. The proof is absolute that the bonds were sold before their maturity, losing the state several hundred thousand dollars. This was an unusual thing to do with an important transaction and should stand out in her memory, as it probably actually does.
Are you so eager to throw dirt at Democrats that you can't even avoid arguing when they agree with you about a situations? Spiteful, spiteful. Is T6 your first cousin?
If that's how you want to play, Silverado Savings and Loan.......

Talking to T6 is like trying to have a conversation with a passive aggressive wall.

T6, your continual hateful, false twisting of the words of others does not make God love you more. It is as filthy rags.

Also, if she weren't guilty, she should have had an explanation when the legislature asked her why she sold bonds before their maturity date, losing the state money. "I can't remember" is not a very good explanation.

It isn't your simplistic either/or, T6. If only teaching abstinence worked, there would be very few teenage pregnancies, as most all parents encourage their children to wait until marriage, or at least adulthood. The proof that that is not sufficient is all around us. Your snide, hateful, oversimplification will do nothing to solve a very real problem.

I'm all for contraception, but right wingers usually interfere with making it available to teens, those who are the most impulsive and most fertile. They want to rely on moral teaching alone, which--while I believe in it also-- unfortunately often works about as well as it did with Bristol Palin and plenty of other teens, even those raised conservatively.

Tim, it was pushed through by the party that also claims to abhor any government interference in anyone's life, until THEY want to interfere in the life of someone they don't agree with. They claim to abhor government and spending money, but these bills are going to cost the state plenty. We should take it out of their pay, but they will find a way to take it out of ours.

McDonald’s seen overhauling U.S. menu May 17, 2013 at 4:21 p.m.
They stupidly got rid of the fruit and walnut salad, which was what I ordered instead of fries with my grilled chicken sandwiches. I don't see how it could have slowed down the kitchen. It was delivered pre made. All they had to do was reach in the cooler and get it. And they are considering eliminating another salad!
When a quick affordable lunch out is necessary because of appointments in town, the one with something healthy on the menu is where we stop. Crazy as it sounds, McDonald's had been having more healthy choices than the others.
