It's Mustain, Gus Malzahn & co. that never should have come to Arkansas. Nutt's leaving as a player was far more amicable than Mustain's; "Email-gate" was about nothing more than Mustain's & Malzahn's oversized egos.
USC apparently broke Mustain's ego, which is appropriate. Malzahn's ego was fed by Tommy Tuberville, another UofA wannabe, until it produced a national title--and the Cam Newton scandal--for Auburn. Still, they left both programs with tarnishes worse than Nutt's failure to perform at Ole Miss.
I do agree with Ole Miss' firing of Nutt, but as I said earlier his heart was always in Fayetteville, not Oxford. But IMO, Ole Miss' real problems are deeper than their coaches; they really need a better way to reconcile their Rebel past with modern-day reality (and no, "Rebel Black Bear" is NOT the solution).

And Nutt's Nebraska debacle? That was to rile both the Nutt-haters and--more importantly--Frank Broyles, who long overstayed his welcome on the Hill (*NO* Jeff Long pun intended). We couldn't attract powerhouse coaches like Bobby Petrino as long as Broyles was still running the show; we only got Petrino when we did because (a) Long was on the horizon as Broyles' replacement and (b) Petrino wanted out of the Falcons job from the moment he learned Michael Vick was going to prison.
