Wayne was known for his crushing sacks and menacing one-two punch with Tony Cherico that was felt by many a quarterback on Sunday mornings. He went on to play eleven seasons in the National Football League for the New Orleans Saints from 1989 to 1999. Martin amassed a total of 82.5 quarterback sacks, which currently stands as the 2nd most career sacks with the Saints behind linebacker teammate Rickey Jackson.
