This front cover of the Arkansas Gazette’s State Centennial Edition features a painting of the Old State House, then known as the War Memorial building, by Arkansas artist Fern Edie Knecht. 75,000 copies of the special edition were printed in magazine form and distributed to daily and Sunday Gazette subscribers. Copies were available to the general public for 50 cents each or $2 for a cloth-bound version.
