Golf- Scott Williams, Fayetteville

Scott Williams, Fayetteville. Williams coached both the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs to state titles in 2013. His boys team captured the state title by 10 strokes and sophomore Luke Long won medalist honors at both the 7A State Tournament and the Overall Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs won their eighth state title in the last nine years by posting a nine-stroke victory over Fort Smith Southside.





Tennis- Bill Topich, Pulaski Academy

Bill Topich of Pulask Academy had three of his players earn Overall tennis titles in 2013. Senior Jake Jacoby won the conference and state titles before securing three straight-set victories during the Overall. The doubles team of senior Grayson Greer and freshman Hunter Harrison combined to win the Overall title after finishing second in the Class 5A state tournament. The Bruins boys team finished second in the state tournament while the girls finished third.



Volleyball- Steve Haaser,
Fort Smith Southside

Fort Smith Southside Coach Steve Haaser guided his team to a 34-3 record during the 2013 season. The Confederettes earned their eighth state title since 1997. Southside was unbeaten against other teams from Arkansas. Haaser's overall record for volleyball is 882-197.



Football- Scott Hyatt, Booneville

Scott Hyatt, Booneville, led the Bearcats to a 15-0 record and the Class 4A state championship. It was the school?s third state title. Booneville outscored opponents a combined 445-36 in the first half and finished plus-25 in turnover ratio. The Bearcats averaged more than 335 rushing yards per game and had two players, senior quarterback Cody Harrel and junior fullback Bryson May, rush for more than 1,000 yards. Hyatt was offensive coordinator on Booneville’s Class AAA state championship team in 2000.



Boys Basketball- Micah Marsh,
LR Episcopal Collegiate

Episcopal Collegiate earned its first boys basketball state championship in 2014 under the guidance of Micah Marsh. Marsh led the Wildcats to a 29-3 record, including 27 consecutive victories to end the season. The Wildcats have earned three consecutive 3A-5 Conference championships under Marsh and have been to the state championship game the last two seasons. Prior to arriving at Episcopal, Marsh spent nine years as the head coach at Alcoa High School in east Tennessee. The former Arkansas State University player also served as an assistant coach at ASU from 2000 to 2002.



Girls Basketball- Johnecia Howard,
eStem

In only two years of playing under the Arkansas Activities Association, eStem earned a girls state basketball title under the leadership of Coach Johnecia Howard. The Lady Mets, who reached the state tournament semifinals in 2013, won the 3A-5 Conference regular season title, finished as the runner-up in the district tournament and was the No. 3 seed out of the regional. With only eight players on their roster, the Lady Mets posted a record of 29-6.



Boys Track - Darrin Kidd,
Pine Bluff Dollarway

Darrin Kidd led the Cardinals to the Class 4A state championship, their first state title since capturing the crown in Class AAA – then the state’s second-largest classification – in 1990. Kidd was a member of Dollarway’s 1990 state championship team. Dollarway, which doesn’t have a track, scored 82 points at the Class 4A meet, 14 points more than runner-up Highland. Three-time defending champion Heber Springs was third with 61 points. Heber Springs had outscored Dollarway 217.5-168 to win 2-4A meet. Dollarway’s three victories at the Class 4A meet were by junior Henri Murphy in the 100 and 200 and senior Joshua Liddell in the 400.



Girls Track - Mike Morrison,
Pulaski Robinson

Mike Morrison, in his first season, led the Lady Senators to a fourth-place finish at the Class 4A state meet. Robinson scored in seven events to finish with 44 points. Robinson scored in one event at last year’s Class 4A state meet to finish tied for 17th (eight points). Robinson finished runner-up in the 7-4A meet with 119 points. Robinson scored 34 points to finish seventh at the same meet in 2013. Robinson won the 400 relay at the Meet of Champs (49.43). Its 16-man roster (up from 10 last year) included freshman sprinter/jumper Asia Anderson, the daughter of former Arkansas and NFL running back Gary Anderson.



Boys Soccer - Bradley James ,
Green Forest

Coach Bradley James led Green Forest to its first state championship in a boys sport since 1968 when the Tigers beat Central Arkansas Christian 4-1 in the Class 4A state final. Green Forest, a Class 3A school, finished the season 14-4-2 despite playing several larger opponents. Green Forest was the fourth seed in the state tournament, and its championship run included victories over top-seeded Episcopal Collegiate and defending state champion Valley View.



Girls Soccer - Kristina Henry,
Bentonville

Coach Kristina Henry led Bentonville to its third consecutive state championship with a 3-2 victory over Bryant. Bentonville finished the season 14-4-1, and won the title over a Bryant team that had won 23 of its 26 games. Henry coached key Bentonville players such as junior forward McKenzie Dixon, who scored the championship-winning goal, and junior defender Morgan Freehling, the state tournament’s Most Valuable Player.



Baseball - Kirk Bock, Bryant

Bryant's Kirk Bock has won three state titles in his six years as the Hornets' head coach. This year's Bryant team won a school-record 33 games and had team batting average of .350. Bock is this year's baseball coach of the year as selected by the Democrat-Gazette's All-Arkansas Preps staff. Bock has led the Hornets to the state championship game in four of the last five seasons, winning in 2010, 2012 and 2014. MaxPreps.com ranked Bryant No. 10 in the nation after the Hornets knocked off Fayetteville 10-0 in the championship game.



Softball- Anthony Cantrell,
North Little Rock

Using many underclassmen the last two seasons, North Little Rock Coach Anthony Cantrell has coached the Lady Charging Wildcats to back-to-back Class 7A state championships. Cantrell is this season's Democrat-Gazette's All-Arkansas Preps softball coach of the year. North Little Rock finished 22-5 this season, taking a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Bentonville in the state title contest. In five years under his leadership, Cantrell's teams have compiled a 112-41 record. Cantrell has been in the North Little Rock School District for 17 years.
