Arkansas Arts Center: Photographing Frida: Portraits of Frida Kahlo

For the late, legendary artist Fri Kahlo, bodily movement was a luxury. So it would seem ironic that her life would be celebrated via dance production. But a Tucson, Ariz., dance company did just that. Ashley Bowman, artistic director of Artifact Dance Project, was the featured speaker for "Art of Motion and Music: Movement and Frida,” a February 21 wine reception and lecture at the Arkansas Arts Center in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibit, "Photographing Frida: Portraits of Frida Kahlo.”
