Murphy Jeffries Building

Built in 1925, the Murphy Jeffries Building at 2901-2903 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. was purchased in 1963 by Andrew Jeffries. He was one of the state’s first Black real estate agents and the state’s first Black bail bondsman, and he shared his office with Christopher C. Mercer Jr., the first Black lawyer appointed a deputy prosecuting attorney in Little Rock.
