LITTLE ROCK — Only six miles to run before breakfast? Why, that's nothing.
For members of the Little Rock Marathon Training Team, Saturday's scheduled 6 a.m. workout will feel paltry, piddling, picayune. When you're used to 14-, 18-, 20-mile mornings, it hardly feels worth while to crawl out of your cozy bed for a mere six.
But this is the last group workout before next weekend's marathon, and all these runners and walkers are not supposed to exert themselves, much, all this coming week.
Their coaches want them to show up at the starting line March 2 with legs and minds so sick of sitting around that a 26.2-mile ordeal will feel like relief ... for a while, anyway.
