BENTON - A Benton man pleaded guilty Tuesday to negligent homicide after admitting he was drunk and had used cocaine when he struck and killed a bicyclist in October.
Kirk Shelnut, 37, was sentenced to three years in prison on the felony charge.
Christopher Daniels, 19, was riding his bike near McKelvey and Border streets on Oct. 13 when Shelnut ran into him around 7 p.m.
