UALR to celebrate Earth Day with electronic recycling initiative

Staff members of the Facilities Management Department in conjunction with the UALR Recycling Committee and the Global Issues Class will conduct vehicle tire pressure checks and collect electronics and other recyclables from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday – Earth Day – Thursday, April 22, in Parking Lot 15 at Fair Park Avenue and 28th Street.

Members of the campus community and campus neighbors can bring their old electronics to the drop off for transport to a recycling facility, including old cell phones, batteries, and small appliances.

Other household recyclables also can be dropped, including newspapers, magazines, and other paper material, light bulbs, plastic bottles, and manageable quantities of household chemicals.

Drivers can bring their vehicles to Lot 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for tire pressure checks to assure they are not wasting fuel due to low pressure.

Throughout the day, an information booth will be operating at the Donaghey Student Center with educational information regarding recycling on campus and around the Little Rock area.
