House searched in Morgan Nick abduction case

— Authorities say that federal investigators are looking at a vacant house in Oklahoma for any DNA evidence in the 15-year-old Morgan Nick abduction case.

The Spiro Police Department says investigators were in the area Monday looking for evidence that could show that Morgan had been in the home. Fort Smith television station KFSM reports that Nick’s mother, Colleen Nick, says she believes the FBI is just re-examining the case.

Alma Police Chief Russell White says investigators once had a person of interest in Spiro.

Nick was abducted on June 9, 1995, by an unidentified man during a baseball game. She was 6 years old.

Since then, Arkansas has named its missing child alerts after Morgan, and a foundation was created in her name to help other parents of abducted children.
