UA officials worried about Boozman Razorback ad

by The Associated Press | September 7, 2010 at 5:17 p.m.

University of Arkansas officials may throw a yellow flag on Republican John Boozman’s ad highlighting his days as a Razorback to help his Senate bid.

A spokesman for the University of Arkansas said Tuesday school officials are concerned about the television ad the Republican congressman is airing in his Senate bid that features the team logo and stadium. Boozman is challenging Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln

In the 30-second ad, Boozman talks about the lessons he learned while playing football for the Razorbacks. A helmet with the Razorback logo is shown during the ad.

UA spokesman Steve Voorhies said the school has not found anyone who gave Boozman’s campaign permission to use the school’s logo in the spot. Voorhies said the school hasn’t asked Boozman to stop airing the ad and is still looking into the matter.
