LITTLE ROCK — Pi Lambda chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and the Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation hosted their 60th annual Debutante Scholarship Ball on Dec. 23 at the Peabody Little Rock hotel.
The 25 debutantes have demonstrated academic excellence in high school and high moral standards, have participated in community service projects and are now pursuing college degrees.
Since 1950, more than 2,000 young women have been presented during the balls and more than $120,000 has been raised for scholarships.
