LITTLE ROCK — A Tennessee man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of his wife.
According to the Commercial Appeal, Thomas Pate entered the plea Monday as part of an agreement with prosecutors and was sentenced to 25 years in prison without parole.
Pate was accused of killing 26-year-old Micah Pate, formerly of Searcy, and leaving her body by the Loosahatchie River near Memphis in April 2009.
Authorities say Pate initially told them she disappeared after leaving their home for a walk but later said he shot her accidentally while they were shooting at targets.
