EZ Mart worker in LR robbed at gunpoint

— An employee of a Little Rock EZ Mart was robbed while taking out the trash early Tuesday morning.

Little Rock police received a call about 12:45 a.m. and responded to the EZ Mart at 11911 Mara Lynn Road.

The male convenience store worker told police that he was taking out the trash when he saw someone crouching in front of the store.

The employee told police that he ran toward a nearby Little Caesars restaurant but he fell down, and the man he'd seen caught up with him.

The robber then pointed a handgun at the employee and took him back to the EZ Mart, where a second man was waiting.

The robbers forced the employee to open the register and took his wallet before fleeing on foot with an unknown amount of cash and credit cards.

The first robber was described as a 25- to 30-year-old black male, weighing about 180 pounds and standing about 5-foot-9. The victim told police that the robber wore a blue bandanna, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and brown boots.

The second robber was described as a 25- to 30-year-old black male weighing about 200 pounds and standing about 5-foot-11. He was wearing a black bandanna and a dark hooded sweatshirt, police said.
