Mayor: Little Rock crews working 24/7 to clear debris

— Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola says dozens of public works employees are working to salt streets and clear trees and limbs as the city recovers from the Christmas Day storm.

Stodola says the 70 employees are working around-the-clock shifts to clear debris from city streets. Stodola says residents should call the city’s 311 number to report downed trees and limbs.

The winter storm dumped ice and more than 10 inches of snow on Little Rock on Christmas. Stodola says 57,500 customers in Little Rock did not have electricity Thursday afternoon.

The mayor says the fire department has responded to seven structure fires caused by candles or fireplaces. He urged residents to not leave open flames unattended as they try to keep warm without electricity.
