Man accused of running over pedestrian

— Little Rock police arrested a man Thursday and accused him of intentionally running over another man in November.

Police responded to the incident on Nov. 8, 2011, at Shiloh Drive and Mabelvale Cutoff, where they found 35-year-old Daniel Johnson of Little Rock lying in the road. Johnson suffered from several internal injuries and broken bones, and police later determined through witness testimonies that he was intentionally struck by a vehicle.

Johnson remained in the hospital for 2 months. Police and the victim later identified the suspect as 31-year-old Marvin Kent. Witnesses said Kent and Johnson were arguing before Kent accelerated his vehicle at a high speed, striking Johnson, and driving away.

Kent has been charged with first degree battery and is being held at the Pulaski County Jail.
