Little Rock Police Department Chief Stuart Thomas is suspending a lieutenant without pay for a 2011 incident in which the officer beat a man outside of a Hillcrest-neighborhood restaurant.

Lt. David Hudson was given notice of the 30-day suspension on Thursday following a year-long internal investigation. The department released Hudson's suspension letter on Friday.

A video posted on YouTube shows Hudson punching Chris Erwin, then 40, of Little Rock multiple times after a verbal altercation Oct. 29, 2011, outside of Ferneau at 2601 Kavanaugh Blvd.

Hudson's suspension will begin Monday.

    Hudson needs to be down at Tucker Max for assault, battery, government abuse of power, and for being a general idiot and bully. If I was a bystander I would have whipped his butt as my citizen duty requires of me.
