— Republican opposition to the possible nomination of Susan Rice to be secretary of state is showing signs of cracking.

Arizona Sen. John McCain said he’d be willing to meet with Rice, the current U.N. ambassador, and consider her much-scrutinized explanation about how the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, unfolded.

McCain has said GOP senators would do “whatever is necessary” to block Rice if President Barack Obama were to nominate her to replace Hillary Rodham Clinton at the State Department.

On Sunday, McCain was asked on Fox News Sunday if Rice could change his mind. McCain said “sure” and that he’d like to meet with her.

McCain and other Republicans have accused the White House of distorting the deadly Benghazi attack for political gain.

Suggest Arkansas senators not cave on this one. If she either lied or followed instuctions to lie, we do not need someone like this to represent the USA to the world. Who would believe or turst her? There are plenty of choices for this position, Strange that Obama would put up such a fight for this we he sold out on the public option in healthcare and to Wall Street crooks.

BillSmith, I did not think much of the Bush's Rice either. I am sure this person is qualified that is not the point, either she flat out lied or to be kinder she mislead the public. But what I disliked the most is she left the impression that someone in the USA(The goof yfilmaker) was responsible for the kllings in Libya. We do not need someone like this representing us. At least, the other RIce did not try to pin 9/11 on Americans.
PS. I really do not watch Fox TV at all, and just like the other news channels their advertising sponsors are paying for airing their veiwpoints.
There are a lot of things that Obama should fight for but this is not one of them.
