— A Beebe singer who had been competing on the popular television show The Voice was eliminated in a live program Tuesday night.

Cody Belew had advanced through several rounds through judge decisions and online and phone voting, joining the top eight contestants in Monday night's show.

But after Belew performed his rendition of Queen's "Somebody to Love" that night, he failed to attract enough fan votes to advance. The show doesn't release vote totals, but Belew was one of two contestants eliminated Tuesday.

"My sweet friends- this is not my end, only my beginning," Belew wrote on Twitter after his elimination. "Thank you all more than I can express for riding alongside me. Now we work! :-)"

The Voice continues Monday with the top six finishers.

That is too bad. He was, by far, the best performer on the show. I'm not saying the best singer, I'm saying the best performer. Good luck in the future, Cody.

Definitely too bad. Maybe he will come back to the LR area and perform. He'll have a lot more fans this time!
