2 teens charged in Garland County livestock deaths

— Prosecutors have filed misdemeanor charges against two teenagers accused of killing two horses, a donkey and a cow.

The teens were charged last week with misdemeanor animal cruelty.

The Sentinel-Record reported that a Pearcy man filed a complaint with sheriff’s investigators Oct. 8, saying that two quarter horses, one cow and one donkey were shot and killed on his property.

A second cow had been shot in the horn.

Garland County sheriff's office investigator Danny Wilson said a 17-year-old boy from Hot Springs and a 16-year-old Royal boy were charged with five counts of animal cruelty.

Wilson said the two boys purportedly bragged about the shootings at school.

Both were charged as juveniles and are due in Garland County Juvenile Court on Thursday.
