— Students, faculty and government officials gathered at Otter Creek Elementary on Monday afternoon for the announcement of a 2012 Milken Educator Award.

Zsuzsanna Diamond, a fourth-grade teacher at the school, was in the audience awaiting what she thought was an assembly prior to the announcement being made.

Diamond has been a teacher in the Little Rock School District for five years.

Up to 40 teachers in the nation are named 2012 Milken Educator Award recipients. Diamond received $25,000 to use however she wanted as part of the award. Diamond said she is going to use the money to go see her family in Hungary, where she is originally from.

Otter Creek Elementary students range from pre-K to 5th grade.
